The term Lucid Dreaming or 'having a lucid dream', is technically where the sleeper is awake and 'aware' of their environments, actions and perceptions within their own dream, interacting with their own environment.

Although science can never prove the existence of light (spirit) unless it becomes light (spirit) itself. Its all about one personal own unique experience.

Thus it is about one’s own experience to validate their own experience of reality, We can switch between different states of consciousness, either at will or automatic beyond our own conscious control.

Phasing levels of consciousness are levels of daydreaming, dreaming, sleepwalking, REM, trance, sleep, full waking consciousness, hypnosis etc. However, do we share this 'dream space environment' with others in the same level of consciousness such as dreams?

Is there evidence of mutual dreaming? So far scientists say no. However you as a conscious dreamer may argue to some degree about your own experience with others in the dream environment. But how do we know what we are just sharing, is just the same psychic field as others. It could just be within our own psychic minds.

With experienced lucid dreamers, it is possible to command themselves into a fully conscious lucid dream environment, others can control their lucid dreams to go into a fully OOBE (Out-Of-Body Experience). This like many things in life, take time to master. But there are also some individuals in our physical world, which have no control when they have an OOBE at all.

Formula one driver Ayrton Senna reported a number of times having Out-Of-Body experiences during his driving time behind the wheel during races. He famously reported many times that he was having OOBEs while behind the wheel, saying that he was no longer driving consciously and was in his own words "in a different dimension". Drivers often report being in a tranquil state of being. Being that when your logical analytical mind (left brain) is concentrated on something your right brain (creative, intuitive mind) takes over.

The subconscious and conscious mind are very interesting states of consciousness. Where are we when we are under the influence of alcohol and we wake up the next day not remembering much, where is 'our-self's when we lock our front door to our house, and 5 minutes later we can’t remember if we locked it or not? Do we remember every hour that we slept? Are we conscious or unconscious during this time, or just in a state of suspended animation, re-energising from our days mental and physical excursions?

Dreams however are an accumulation of subconscious information from our thoughts and experiences in the day. When we sleep we often have dream signs, or experiences which helps us to sort out the clutter from the day. And show us in front of us, what is important. Its like a filter from our active mind, to keep us still. Meditation is much like this, giving the body a chance to be in stillness & timelessness, to focus on what is important.

Does dreaming, meditation and lucid dreaming make you more intelligent? In my experience, I would say factual (no). However in my experience as a consciousness being and researching states and levels of consciousness, I believe that awareness gains knowledge. One simply doesn’t need to be intelligent to gain awareness. The more aware you are in your waking life, the more you understand and can cope with the physical world because you understand it. The same as some people call others stupid for not knowing something doesn’t make them less intelligent, its merely a lack of knowledge of the awareness. We can see this a lot in relationships, jobs, our relationship with money, friends, ourselves, self-worth etc. In my experience the more aware you are in this physical world, the most likely you are to have some level of awareness in the dream states, or lucid dreams.

However, in some studies, it has been shown that lucid dreams have shown increased parieto-occipital beta and "global increase in the theta phase - gamma amplitude coupling". Basically meaning that there is a synchronisation of both theta and gamma brain waves occurring together. Which are both significant for visual attention and memory processing. This is a huge awareness of study in the field of lucid dreaming, as it shows the brain is actively experiencing these lucid dreams as something close to an experience in physical reality.
